Today was a bright clear sunny day, but windy and crispy cold except for the dogs, they seems to be sheltered from the wind in the little valley near the bridge they rest and soak up the sunshine.
Musher Sandy Jaaka made the decision to send one of his female dog back to his community of Kangiqsujuaq, because she started to be in heat; Sandy didn’t want to take any chances of getting into trouble, or the dog getting loose, so he sent it home.
Elijag Simionie Jr, came to look at the dogs and was telling his stories about his dog when he was young, how he had to feed them milk as very small puppies, and what names he gave to them, all from sky features like atsanik, ayarola, moon, clouds, etc.
Full days rest in Kangirsuk
Beautiful dogs!!
