The Ivakkak racers left Aariak for their second day of racing at 10 a.m. this morning and travelled a total of 42 KM to Kangirsuk. The community of Kangirsuk was very excited for their arrival.
The community made tea and bannock, which was served in a canvas tent that they pitched for the mushers arrival. Children were the first to shake the hands of the mushers upon their arrival as they hurriedly went over to greet them. The community spirit was very high and the mushers and their dogs were happy to arrive at the Kangirsuk checkpoint.
