This morning, the participants awoke to persisting stormy weather, forcing them to postpone their departure for another day or so. While they took the opportunity to rest in the morning, the afternoon was spent playing all sorts of games with the locals at the school gymnasium.

The wind kept blowing all day, but at one point in the afternoon, the sun seemed to want to come out. Some hopeful qimusitiit took their dogs out for a short run. Unfortunately, the wind grew strong again and the sun soon died off behind the clouds. Although the wind is expected to weaken tomorrow, there is a good chance that it will still be strong enough, roaming around 40 to 60 km/hr. This could mean another day spent in Kangiqsujuaq for the dog teams who are now anxious to get going, having too much free time on their hands.

To pass the time, the race coordinators and officials decided to organize games for the participants and support crew to play games with local people. Held in the school gymnasium, the games kept everybody busy for the afternoon, giving them the opportunity to win some prizes and to interact with one another. It was a lot of fun!
