High winds prevent the teams from leaving Kangirsuk today. All racers take advantage of the time to rest their dogs.

High winds and poor visibility have kept the racers in Kangirsuk Sunday to Tuesday. Tradition has it that when Inuit drove their sleds from Kuujjuaq to Quartaq, they would rest three days in Kangirsuk before moving on. As it is often said, tradition is hard to break, and the mushers have stayed three days in Kangirsuk.
With the weather clearing up this Tuesday evening, the teams are expected to leave early Wednesday morning. The much rested Taquliks and Aqiarulaaqs will be raring to go. The expected distance of travel will be roughly 50 miles for tomorrow and Ivakkak should arrive in Quartaq by Thursday.
