The Ivakkak race began on a sunny Monday morning with temperatures in the -20s. The racers mushed 35 miles and arrived at Qalialuk between Kuujjuaq and Tasiujaq during the evening.
The eleven racers began their trip at around eleven in the morning from Stewart Lake near the community of Kuujjuaq.
The race results, counted according to the hours and minutes that each racer took to arrive at the same spot after 35 miles were:

By Tuesday night the qimutsitiit are expected to arrive at Tasiujaq so long as the good weather is maintained.
